Here are the steps on how to open two Excel files side by side and synchronize them:

1. Open the first Excel file.
2. On the View tab, in the Window group, click New Window.
3. Open the second Excel file in the new window.
4. On the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side.
5. To scroll both worksheets at the same time, click Synchronous Scrolling.

Here are some additional tips:

You can also open two Excel files side by side by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on each of the file names.

If you have more than two Excel files open, you can select the ones you want to view side by side by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on each of the file names. Then, on the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side.

To adjust the spacing between the two worksheets, drag the splitter bar between the windows.

To close the side-by-side view, click View Side by Side again.
